Faleye scores as Super Eagles condemn Libya to a defeat in 2018 CHAN tournament

Nigeria on Friday, January 19 defeated Libya 1-0 in their CHAN game in Morocco.

It was their second group C game as Eagles were forced to a 0-0 draw in their first tie.

Sunday Faleye scored the only goal that condemned Libya to a 1-0 defeat.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles team B on Friday, January 19 defeated Libya 1-0 in their second group C game at the ongoing 2018 CHAN tournament going on in Morocco.

Salisu Yusuf’s men went into this game knowing fully well that only a win will give me the guarantee of qualifying for the next round following their 0-0 draw against Rwanda in their first game.

Libya on the other hand were superb in their first game as they defeated Equatorial Guinea 3-0 in their own Group C first game.

Nigeria missed so many scoring chances in the first half as the trio of Sunday Faleye, Rabiu Ali and Anthony Okputu failed to find the back of the net.

Libya also got the chance to score before the first half break, but Nigeria would have goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa to thank as he was at his best to deny the Libyans.

Super Eagles changed their style in the second half as they supplied the Libyan defense with flurry of attacks, but they had to wait till the 79th minute before they got their goal.

Sunday Faleye who missed many chances in the first half finally redeemed himself as he scored the goal that condemned Libya to a 0-1 defeat.

Fake policeman arrested while collecting N15,000 bribe

The Police on Tuesday arraigned a 34-year-old man, Prince Williams, in a Wuse Zone 2 Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly impersonating as a police officer.

The defendant of 222 Road, House 555, 2nd Avenue, Gwarinpa, Abuja, is facing a two- count of impersonation and extortion.

The prosecutor, Mr. Kufreabasi Ebong, told the court that the accused committed the offenses on February 11 at 10 a.m.

Ebong said that the accused disguised as a police officer and collected a valid driver’s license and N15,000 from an unsuspecting victim.

The offences contravened Sections 132 and 292 of the Penal Code.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges
The Magistrate, Mr. Taribo Jim, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case until March 21 for hearing.

A man identified as Moshood has been held by Community members of Makoko in Yaba area of Lagos for killing his friend over N1000. According to reports, the bloody clash occurred following an argument over who owns a N1000 Note they saw on the floor.
